Heading out next week to visit cousins in Indiana, friends in Illinois, Dollywood on the way there and the Creation Museum on the way home. That means lots of prep work crammed into today and Monday. Which means….fencing!
So, we have mama goat fencing to move, mini-horse fencing to move,a new baby goat kennel to put together and a garden to fence off. All of that is on the list for today. Afterwards we have bedrooms to get in order so we can pack and come home to a nice house.
We hope you’re having a good week. Looking forward to worship on Sunday and celebrating my nephews birthday. God is good.
Blessings,
Kate

Contagious Laughter
My mom is one of those people…the ones who have such an infectious laugh that though you have no idea what is so funny, you just bust a gut right along with them.
So here’s why we had the morning chuckle-a-thon: We’re doing chores and my mom is doing her morning routine of sewing and listening to an audio book or panel discussions/teaching tapes and we hear her machine whizzing away….and then suddenly we hear her madly cackling and hooting and we run in to get in on the action. When she can catch her breath sufficiently, she gasps out between mirthful chortles that the cd she was listening to had gotten stuck where the deep, manly voice says “he”. So it was saying,”he-he-he-he” in this rather doleful sounding giggle. Well, that just tickled her and set her off. She couldn’t reach the cd player easily to stop it, so this crazed male te-heing just kept on and she was helplessly laughing. After she related all of this, we were also laughing. I love my Mom’s helpless laughter. She’s the best!

Fencing Friday
Not as exciting as it sounds. Our goat gals took off on an impromptu grazing holiday. I was talking to my mom, ignoring the sound of bells getting nearer (i know, that totally defeats the purpose of belling them) and mom says “Hey! The cats are running down the drive! I mean the ones with horns!” The goats were out of greenery, so we had to round them up, tether them to trees and move their fencing.
Now we’re resting before jumping back in to chores and going folk dancing tonight. My mom might come too!
Have a great day ya’ll!

Thankful Thursday
I’m thankful to God for rain last night. I can almost hear the trees sighing in delight.
I’m about to pick up our first batch of meat birds. We’re trying a new breed that takes longer to grow out, but will allow us to continue hatching our own. We couldn’t do that with the last type of bird, which made us dependant on the hatchery. Hopefully it goes well.
Visited with my sister in the city for our regular Wed. date with Dr. Who. We also watched From Prada to Nada which is a modern spin off of Sense and Sensibility, or as my Bee once called it “miserable and sad”.
Hope you’re all having a great week.

And another…
I got Liz a Dr. Who audio book read by David Tennant and she’s playing it again as she does her chores.
Tired today, hopefully we’ll get everything done. I got another milk stand 2nd hand last night, so that’s one thing off the list. Have to make several quilt blocks today to contribute to a wedding quilt and work on the quilting of another one.
Also hoping to get into the garden today, my seedlings are doing well so far should be able to get them into the ground soon.
Well, off to get work done.

*to the tune of “Pigs in Space”* Calves in pain!..
I’ve been getting back into our almost daily 3 mile walks. The day before yesterday was way gusty winds and going against that, uphill on the return trip…let’s just say I could hear my legs screaming.
Visited with my sister in the city yesterday, we watched Dr. Who and hung out. She made tacos for dinner, then we stayed for family worship with them before heading home.
Today is chores and school and another walk. Tomorrow is folk dancing! Hope you’re all having a good week. I’m off to do Bible time with my girls, we’re in Isaiah.
Praise the Lord! I will praise Him with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright and the congregation.
Blessings,
Kate

How’s that for a comfort rating?
4 out of 5 kittens prefer my bed…
I don’t think we’re going to catch up on our sleep until after Easter. Last night we went folk dancing with the G family and part of the F family. We did several Israeli dances, some Greek,a couple African line-type dances,a Scandinavian one and a few others whose origin I’m not sure of. We did the Virginia Reel contra dance and something called Traffic Jam which is crazy fun.
Today is finish chores and Sabbath prep. Have to make candied carrots, deviled eggs and rolls for Easter lunch.
Hope you all have a great day and joyful resurrection Sunday!

Whoa! I’m Tired….
We got home at 11:30 last night. Church was at 7:30 and afterward we went to Elder E’s house for coffee and snacks. Elder G preached last night. He did a survey of the book of Luke, specifically how Jesus was rejected by various groups. The truly sad thing, He came into His world, His nation, His people, and they didn’t recognize Him. Elder G said “He took on our ‘stuff’ and came home to us as His ‘kin’ and was rejected by His own. I love how he puts it.
Today we look at His passion. We’re also in the book of Isaiah in our morning devotions. Lot’s to think on today.
Hope you’re having a blessed Holy week. A great time to be provoked to righteousness.

Last night
So, last night I dreamed that Van Johnson came to visit. Mom made him a pork loin in gravy that I dumped a ton of worcestershire sauce into for some reason. He showed me his tap shoes, he had really small feet.
Some dreams are just so random.
Had a busy but enjoyable week so far. Lots of running back and forth. Tonight is Maundy Thursday service at church, so back to the city we go….literally over the river and through the woods…at least, on the return trip at any rate. Looks to be overcast today. Hope we can get all of our chores done so I can get started on a quilt we’re finishing up.
Well, hope you’re all having a great week. We’re praying for all of those hit by storms and tornadoes and those in the path of bad weather.
Blessings,
Kate
