  • Today

    It's been such a blessing to have the Dorny's with us. Family worship has been great with them, especially the singing...much better with men's voices as well. Jacob D. definitely brings us up a bit since he's been trained in singing. . We're also memorizing Psalm 91:
    "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Him I will trust. Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will have refuge."

    Today in school we have in addition to; Bible, Domestic Skills, Reading, Handcraft, Math, Penmanship, Phonics, Poetry, French and Spelling; History: for Liz & Elena Our Island Story ch. 65 Edward VI the Story of a Boy King; and for Hannah : Diogenes. in 50 famous stories.
    We also have our Folksong: The Drinking Gourd and a Hymn: All The Way My Savior Leads Me by Fanny Crosby:
    All the way my Savior leads me, what have I to ask beside?
    Can I doubt his tender mercy, who through life has been my guide?
    Heavenly peace, divinest comfort, here by faith in him to dwell;
    for I know, what e'er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well.

    All the way my Savior leads me, cheers each winding path I tread,
    gives me grace for every trial, feeds me with the living bread.
    Though my weary steps may falter, and my soul a thirst may be,
    gushing from the rock before me, lo, a spring of joy I see!

    All the way my Savior leads me- O the fullness of his love!
    Perfect rest to me is promised in my Father's house above;
    when my spirit, clothed, immortal, wings its flight to realms of day,
    this my song through endless ages; Jesus led me all the way!

       Isn't that a pretty song? The tune is the same as Bless the Man that Fears Jehovah in the Psalter.
    After school we're cleaning, sewing, and running errands.
    I hope you all have a great week. Tomorrow is my Lizzy's 12th birthday. We have school and ballet during the day.  Lizzy requested Mrs. Dorny's meatloaf for dinner and Aunt Margaret is making her a confetti cake. Coolness! The C. family will join us as well for dessert! I got Lizzy 2 Star Wars cook books. We'll have to make Wookie Cookies and Yoda Soda! Luke! Use the Fork! hahaha.
    Blessings,
    ~Kate

  • Yoda Soda! If you make Wookie Cookies you must send some to our Wookie!

    Sounds like a wonderful blessing to have Heather and fam with you. We miss you.

    One of my nieces just asked if you're going to be invited to Jason's wedding reception. Well, yes. So, since you idn't make it here last year, be thinking about next May. May 9, to be specific, is the day of the reception. We'll get back from LV on the 5th.

    You'll be getting a Save The Date notice, but this is just a heads up.

    Happy birthday to Lizzy - tell her I'd give her 12 minutes of backrubs if I could be there!

    Love you all,

    me<><

  • HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY  Love ME and Megan and Daryl John and Uncle John.  LOVE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!

  • Happy Birthday, Lizzy! All your cousins here send their love and best wishes. Wish we could be with you to celebrate. Enjoy your meatloaf, cake and wookie cookies (now that sounds like fun!).

    Edward VI...that was the son of Henry VIII, right? Pity he didn't survive. Don't forget to study Lady Jane Grey after!!! There's an excellent article about her here (hope you don't have any trouble with it). For England and English history in general you can also go here (their stuff on Lady Grey is also very good).

    Much love,

    Aunt C for all the LA Ts

    P.S. Want to find out what song was #1 on the day you were born? Just go here. (Mine is "Sister Golden Hair" by America. *sob*)
