Surrealism...Dally style...
Daughters, the Funky Chicken and the Magnificat....
Wish I had it in picture form, but c'est la vie. So, we've started Term 1 of our Homeschool this week. We use Amblesideonline. Along with standard courses we have an artist study and composer study. This term's composer is Bach and we are currently listening to the Magnificat in D. I've not exposed them to enough classical music, that is true, and so they are always a bit un-interested in it. So, this time I brought them into my room and played the Magnificat online for them. I talked about the many different instruments that he wrote a seperate part for and yet how each of those parts blend beautifully together. That went over really well. It wasn't until the chorus started singing the very baroque sounding " Magnificahhhhahahahahahahahahahaht! Magni!!! fi cah ah ah ah ah ah ah Ahat!" that the girls got into it. First they realized that these people sounded like chickens, and then Hannah jumped up and actually began doing the Funky Chicken to the Magnificat, and you know something? It kinda worked!!
We sure do love learning around here! The best part is, we went to Wal-mart a day later, and darned if the Magnificat wasn't playing on their music sampler...and they all recognized it!! We're a bit unorthodox in our learning, but we learn!
So, lately we've been cleaning and schooling and trying to get into an earlier schedule. Nan is on vacation yet again, this time with Aunt Rose in IN...I think they were headed for Chicago....
Well, it;s overcast with periods of rain and breezy from Tropical Storm Hanna...I love living here! My oak trees are lovely in the breeze! hey..that sounds like a poem.

The End.
Wasn't that nice? You've had some insanity and poetry all in one! Life is good. It's fun to learn with the Dally's.
Have a blessed weeekend, we're looking forward to joining with the Saints tomorrow in worship! ~Kate

Kathryn ! It thrills my heart to hear that you are truly happy! Think how pleased Frank is. Bless his heart I always admired him. He was truly a BIG man.
Your Mom , Marla ,Kayal and I went for a ride in Randy's Schooner (?) Any way his covered wagon. He helped me up into it and we had a long ride into N.R. on route 7. We got into town somewhere around McD's and the dairy queen. Those horses started to run scared. A chain had let loose and spooked the horses They took off running on main st. Randy tackfully jumped out and kept trying to calm them. I was afraid he couldn't get them settled before they injured him. He is so masterful at most every thing he attempts and findly did steer them off the high way and through a service station drive into someones back yard,
They did some damage to the canvas cover and broke the front bow that holds the top . Randy had steered them under a tree and of course they had no other choice but to stop. A lady came out and was taking pictures.
(That was a new experience for every body but me,. I was 5 when dad's horse was scared and ran away with the family in the buggy. It upset and the horse got loose. But the injuries was minor) .
We had Kayla and Abby with us , We had a hard time calming Abby. Kayla was screaming . Not that I'm so brave , it was exciting not knowing how this was going to end.But then Randy took us the back road s home. I told him it was exciting but enjoyable none the less
. Well Mom and I ,are to leave tomarrow mid morning . So keep us in your prayers. I'm uneasy for Marla. But she assures me she will be alright. She is feeling really good right now, But this happens again and again. She lapses right back into the disorientated mood. I'm almost sure that no one will be with herduring the day.Only maybe when the cleaning lady comes a timeor two a week. Makes me sad that they don't check on her more often.
Well sorry this was so long . But of course you can delete me ! l/u
Hey that buggy ride reminds me of my life. lol.
Passing by....a sweet site
HEY!
"Put alot of thought into that one, didn't you" Kate. What, was that "minimalism"?
No, I guess minamalism would have been:
"Here. Love.
Oak trees. Breeze
Love. Here."
The end.
